The first ride of the trip!  Heading from the Bluehaus Group Adu Dhabi office,  we’ll have to deal with the lunatic traffic leaving Abu Dhabi heading into the dessert heat during the middle of the day.  As we arrive into Al Ain on the border, we take on the infamous Jebel Hafeet Mountain, an 7.5 mile climb, 8% average ascent and 21 hairpin bends.  The view from the mountain overlooking Al Ain and into Oman will be stunning when we reach the top, as will the ride down!

Bluehaus Group have offices in central Abu Dhabi where we intend to make an early start to avoid burning ourselves out in the dessert heat on day one.  We take the E30 road which is the safer option with it being a quieter road.   The road is relatively flat but does have some long uphill slogs before Al Ain which will be interesting should wild camels decide to block the road!

When we arrive at the foot of the Jebel Hafeet mountain which is 1,249m high, we’ll hydrate, shake out as much lactic from our legs and pile into some energy bars for the task ahead.  We’re not likely to smash any Strava segments, but it will be a great achievement on day one to have tackled this bad boy!
